The grilled liver with bacon and onions was done very well. Would go back for this dish. Not impressed with the atmosphere. My wife got the meatloaf which didn't look that good and didn't taste any better. The service was okay but not overly friendly. Maybe I am just comparing to the friendly atmosphere of most Southern restaurants.

My dad and uncle are regulars here. When my hubby and i are in town we join them for breakfast. This place is awesome. Their breakfast sausage is thicker than the average finger and so delicious. Omelets are tasty too. Dont be afraid to ask for tweeks either. Onions in the hash browns or crispier bacon is what we ask for and everything is perfect to taste. We have also had their fish fry. Would definately be worth a return. The waitstaff is awesome. Very friendly and they remember the usual people and their quirks. The coffee cups never see the bottom either.

Frequent for a quick lunch.. How can you go wrong? Its quick, decent quality, inexpensive and unpretentious. I'm as much of a foodie and amatur "gastronome" as the next guy, but this place grounds me. Sometimes you just want a decent BLT club and a pile of fries on a simple flat ceramic plate set down on a paper place mat. This place doesn't pretend to be anything its not. It's nested comfortably above George webb, and its not afraid to rub shoulders with Omega. Frumpy ol Ma Fisher could learn a thing or two from Oak Creek Diner. Expect delicious meat loaf, a tasty burger and fries, or heavenly broasted chicken. Don't expect Seared Ahi Tuna or Fire Roasted Red Pepper tapenade and you'll do just fine. Glad to have you near by Oak Creek diner, I mean, who else in town has the balls to proudly display bottles of High Life along slices of Cake on paper doilies in the same rotating upright cooler right in the dining room? Bravo 80s throwback Greek joint! ill have a slice of key lime the "taco" soup please.

Good diner food for the price. Beats the chains. Staying at nearby hotel for a convention. Ate here several times. Homemade and generous portions.

Had a family breakfast here during the week, prior to the family dispersing to the 4 winds for the holidays. Decent breakfast with generous portions. Pricing was in line with the area. Nothing really special here except the service, which was stellar.

Seating host was RUDE after we noticed he skipped over our name on the list. Apologized like a five year old who wasn't really sorry.

Well pleasantly surprised!! Neighborhood Diners Rule! Yummy specials.. I had chicken fried steak with fruit( thank god cause too many potatoes) and dollar pancakes. Nice size meat not oversized , fruit was on rind and super ripe and perfect size cakes. Meat was crispy then sausage gravy was perfectly seasoned. Hubby had poke chop(2) breaky with potatoes with pancakes and eggs. That was three plates of food hellooo. Ha! Even he couldn't eat all the potatoes!! I was just saying the other day that wait staff in Milwaukee is different than what we are used to. But this morning finally someone NORMAL!! He actually listened to what we said ( instead of half an ear and asking again).. We hope to come back this eve for fish fry. It sounds delishious!! I love walleye and smelt! But I have to choose..waaa Ok we came back for dinner at 4 for the fish fry oh my!! Walleye, cod yummy. I saw some lemon meringue and thought we would share a piece but it came with!!! Just made our day Josh( waiter)!!!! Ok gotta go now ... Food coma

Still a real home made breakfast at the best price. I had the two eggs over easy, Greek toast, potatoes, two plump sausage links and a side of ham so I could have left overs. See my pictures. Everything was great as my previous visit and it was a whopping $7.11 for the meal. This has to be the best value breakfast place.

There is no better place for breakfast. The staff is incredible. Everything is made to order perfectly. We try to get there at least once a week. It is that good. Go there. You won't regret it.

Good service, good breakfast. If it's busy, make sure you write your name and number in your party on the notepad by the register. Will definitely return.

Good morning.. referred by the hotel staff. A little intimidating as the place is kind of small and it was packed. Gram always said if a restaurant lot is full and the seats are filled, the food must be good. Well, yes it was. The waitress was good and accommodating. I ordered the egg special with corned beef hash..made without all that extra stuff... WOO HOO!! The real eggs were cooked to perfection, the country potatoes delish, not too hard or soft. I had cherry jelly for the first time in my life..I have been soo deprived. The servings were for way more than one person and for $9.95.. A steal.

Wow! This is probably the best restaurant around! I had the banana pancakes with eggs and my mom had the turkey and dressing off the senior's menu. The pancakes were amazing, very fluffy, and there was so much food that came with the turkey and dressing my mom couldn't finish it all! Dessert also came with her meal, she had the lemon meringue pie which was just delicious! Also the staff were super friendly and checked on us frequently. Overall great food, survive and prices!

I love this place. The owner is kinda kranky. But the food taste like homemade! And always plenty to eat! The place itself is very old fashion. But, very clean! I will always come back to this place.

Good prices. Went on a Sunday morning for brunch, place was jammed! Hard to find a parking spot in the lot and waited about 15 min. for a table once inside. Here is where the story gets a little disconcerting. There is only one cash register to pay on the way out. That is diner style, not a big deal. But wait to get in, wait to get out. There weren't enough employees to clear tables-if there were you could have seated people much faster. (Secret tip 1, when busy on a Sunday morning you have to sign in on a yellow legal pad by the cash register. Was informed by regulars waiting ahead of us-thank you) (Secret tip 2, if you know the staff you are seated ahead of people in line-saw it happen, older couples ahead of us started to grumble-which was only right) Food good, standard diner fare. Not a gut busting portion (which is good) but adequate and very reasonably priced. Service was unbelieveably fast, even with a jammed packed restaurant. From order to food on the table was less than 10 min. Wow! Waitresses constantly checked on their tables, was impressed with the level of service. Would return? Yes I'll take another run at it and maybe it was a bug in the system waiting for a table (not really! the bug was lack of a system) Recommend? Not a go or no go yet, stay tuned for an update and be aware if you give it a try.

Hah! I was vacillating between three and four stars for this place. Honestly, the moment we walked in to the crowded, crazy-loud, mostly-old-ppl filled spot, I was hugely skeptical... Looking at my photos now - a month after we ate there - and having just received a text from my friend Kat saying I never give anything in MKE above 3 stars, and my husband msging me this place deserves 4, well - four it is! Afterall, it was definitely an experience. Having read the reviews before walking in, I was not disappointed with the host and his Napoleon-esque running of the seating. He was definitely efficient, and really amusing. Luckily we put our names on the list right away, and were allowed to sit at the bar - unlike the couple who sat next to us and were told that, b/c their names weren't on the list, they couldn't sit at the bar despite the fact no one else wanted to sit there ;) Onto - the service - it was really efficient and as we were in the prime location to watch the cooks and servers, amazing! These ppl MOVED and laughed and rolled their eyes at each other and carried HUGE trays of HUGE plates of food - very freaking on-point! Also - the star rating here is truly affected by what I ordered - the chicken fried steak. Now, My grandma used to make me chicken fried steak for breakfast, because I'd beg her.. Also - I'm from Texas so that almost always came with biscuits and gravy. When I saw that on the menu, I had to try it - and i'm glad I did as it was spot on! Not as good as Nanny's, but whose is? It was darn good and crazy huge. My corned beef hash was too salty so that was a bummer, but at least the steak was good:) My husband had sausage, bacon (o_O) and strawberry pancakes (as well as oatmeal) and loved everything. My friend Tim got lingonberry pancakes. First of all, I have never seen lingonberry *anything* outside of Aquavit in NYC so that was awesome... Also they were delicious. So yeah, I guess this place deserves four stars. Just make sure that, when you walk in, you put your name on the menu! And for a show - sit at the bar :)

There are two things I go to family restaurants for: breakfast skillets and biscuits and gravy. I already know where the best skillet is, so when I want that I don't go here. But, I've had some trouble finding good biscuits and gravy. When Oak Creek Diner was Nicks Diner, the biscuits and gravy were perfect. Now that its under new ownership as Oak Creek Diner, the gravy comes out of a can and so do the biscuits. I had to add a half a shaker of pepper to make it somewhat palatable. I don't understand why country gravy needs to be canned. Even the powdered gravy from a grocery store is better and just as easy to heat. Anyway, I've canned this place.

Hidden gem that is not so hidden! I have lived in Milwaukee my entire life and have probably have driven past Oak Creek Diner and never stopped. Why did i wait so long! The staff was super friendly and so nice. Be prepared for a wait (not too bad ) but very worth it. Large portions and will satisfy all cravings! Price is is right. I do not usually have high expectations for a diner, but this surpassed ones probably should have. Outstanding service made our visit that much better, who knows it probably made the food taste better too! :-)

It was a nice place to sit down and eat with my wife. The prices are good. And the food was great.
